Peter Hutchison writes: Jacob was our leader, and he led us smartly down Trumpington Road, picking up one or two latecomers as we went, making a total of eight riders. We headed through the Shelfords and then took the little track off the road on the north side of Whittlesford towards Newton. This, while a little rough, was easily passable for all, and made a change from the ride through Whittlesford and Duxford.
From there we climbed to Great Chishill, and then down again towards Barley, stopping for some group photos on the steps of the sadly rather dilapidated Great Chishill Windmill (

We threaded our way through Melbourn and along to the Teacake Café at Shepreth, which was packed and so we sat outside. However, thanks to the high fences round the garden, we were quite comfortable and the service and food were as always excellent.
Afterwards we worked off the cakes by returning over Chapel Hill. An excellent ride.
