CTC Cambridge runs a range of rides every week throughout the year to suit different abilities and schedules. Our rides list indicates the type of ride and shows a grade and expected distance. For example, a ride might be described as "moderateOur moderate rides go at a steady touring pace, averaging 19-22 kph. More, approx 80 km".approx 50 miles". The different grades are explained in ride grading. In some cases, the ride details will also show the planned route.
Rides in the summer are generally longer than those in the winter. Please bring lights on the full day and afternoon rides in winter and the Wednesday evening rides in summer.
On our full day rides, some riders choose to shorten them and return after the morning coffee stop, so that they arrive home around lunchtime. You can take this option if you are confident that you can find your own way back home. There isn't usually an official leader for this part of the ride, but there may be other riders doing the same thing who can keep you company for some of the way. Please make sure that the leader is aware if you choose to leave the group.
For general information about our rides (such as what to wear and what to bring) see Come and ride with us!.
The descriptions below cover our most common rides but we sometimes offer others too, and start points, start times and distances may vary, so check the rides list for details of what is coming up.
