Rides on your mobile calendar

Our rides are now available as calendar feeds. If you use an Android or iPhone mobile phone, if you use Google Calendar, or if you use another calendar program on your computer or mobile phone that allows you to view shared calendars in iCalendar format, then you can display our rides on your own calendar.

How to add these to your own calendar

Google calendar on your computer:

On your computer, go to calendar.google.com and follow these steps to add your chosen calendar to your Google calendar.. You'll need to enter the calendar URL of the calendar you want to add. You will then see calendar entries from the new calendar.

Google calendar on Android:

On your computer, follow the steps above to add your chosen calendar to your Google calendar.

Then pick up your Android device, open the Google calendar app and go to the settings screen. Scroll down and look for the new calendar (if you don't see it in the list, tap "show more"). Tap on the new calendar and change its "Sync" setting so that it changes colour to blue. That's it. Go back to the main calendar screen and you should see calendar entries from the new calendar.

Apple iPhone or iPad users:

  1. Copy the URL for the calendar you want to add to your iPhone.
  2. Tap the "Settings" icon, then scroll down and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars."
  3. Tap "Add Account" and select "Other."
  4. Select the "Add Subscribed Calendar" option, paste in the calendar URL in the Server box and click "Next." Change any settings you see fit before saving the calendar. You do not need a username or password.
  5. Toggle your view of the subscribed calendar by opening the Calendar app and tapping "Calendars" in the upper left corner. Tap a calendar name to either display or remove calendar events.

Other calendars and devices: If anyone would like to send us instructions for other calendar software and devices we would be pleased to publish them here.

We'd be interested to hear whether you find this useful. Please send your comments or questions to the web officer (contact details on our contacts page).
