Dean Road northbound crossing at A1307 junction

The northbound cycle crossing at this junction has been closed. This was unexpected and includes removal of the surfaced gap in the central reservation and reinstating the central kerbs as shown in the photo. It is still possible to cross to the left of the closed gap, but less convenient so allow more time. The southbound crossing uses the road and is unaffected.

We understand that the reason for this change is a safety audit that found the crossing to be dangerous. Apparently making this crossing more difficult makes it safer.
