Sarah writes: Thursday proved to be another lovely spring day, perfect for a ride out to Risby Barns near Bury St. Edmund's, a lunch stop the club hasn't visited for several years.Nine riders came to coffee at Newmarket where The Tack Room served us substantial freshly made scones with our drinks.
Six of us went on through the Suffolk wooded lanes with extremely light traffic and a few steep climbs.
We arrived at 1.15pm after 34 miles at Risby Barns where we sat outside in the warm sunshine having parked our bikes in their bike stands.
It was lovely to revisit the antique centre and Nook cafe where the staff looked after us extremely well. There was a good choice of homemade sandwiches and cakes served quickly. I was extremely impressed by the size of Andrew L's sandwich and salad!
The route back was via Little Saxham, Ashley and Stetchworth where Mike CC left us and onwards through Dullingham.
I arrived home at 4.15pm after 68 miles. Thank you again to all who made the day so enjoyable. Sadly we were all enjoying it so much, we forgot to take any photos! Sarah
