Sarah writes: Fourteen people turned up at the beginning to ride to Stradishall and nine continued onwards to Long Melford in beautiful spring sunshine. It was an absolutely delightful ride through the Glemsford valley and the Suffolk 'alps', some of which were even unfamiliar to me and Andy!We phoned ahead at coffee to warn the cafe and they reserved a table for the nine of us who were going on to lunch.
Cafe Hygge and Bistro was wonderful and I can't recommend it enough. All home made cakes, soup and excellent sandwiches served quickly by pleasant staff.
We left the rest of the group at Bartlow and arrived home at 4.15pm with 114 km 71 miles on the Garmin. The others would have arrived at Shelford by 4.30pm with 117 km 73 miles covered.
A most enjoyable day. Thank you to everyone who came and made it such. It showed there is definitely a demand for longer rides now the warmer weather is with us so we intend to lead others this summer. Sarah
