St Ives loop via Fenstanton (48km) (30mi)

Start: Brookside
Author: Nigel

A flat and almost completely traffic-free loop to St Ives.

The route heads out of Cambridge on Huntingdon Road. At Girton Corner switch onto the cycle path on the right-hand side of the road (perhaps at the signalled crossing just after the junction). After about half a mile0.7 km, turn right onto a narrow path that crosses the A14 and joins a superb smooth farm road that heads north-west for nearly two miles3 km. This leads directly onto a smooth, wide cycleway alongside the A1307 which continues all the way to Fenstanton. There you switch to normal roads for 3 miles4 km to St Ives.

From St Ives, return to Cambridge along the Busway.
