An evening with Outspoken!

Join us on Wednesday 21st February 2018 at 6.45pm for an evening with Outspoken! Find out more here.

We'll have an introduction to Outspoken, hear what they do, find out why they do it and learn about their overall philosophy. We'll also enjoy some free pizza and have some fun!

Welcome to our new website!

Nigel writes: Welcome to the new website of CTC Cambridge. The changeover from the old website is now complete, and all links to the old website should now take you to the correct place on the new website.

I hope you will be able to find everything you need: please get in touch if something doesn't seem to work, or if you have any questions.

Take a look at Introducing our new website to find out why we decided a new website was necessary and to add your comments. Nigel, web officer

Rides in Jan and Feb

Our programme of rides for January and February is now published. We've planned some shorter routes for these mid-winter rides, reflecting the short days and the possibility of bad weather. Our Sunday all-day rides and our Thursday rides both aim to be home before dark, but please bring lights for all the winter rides in case we are delayed.

Note that our Thursday "city start" rides are changing back to a 9.30am start for a few weeks in January and February. Meanwhile, our Sunday all-day rides continue with their shorter "winter ride" format, except for the ride on 18th Feb ride which will be a short ride to our rescheduled club lunch which we hope will be a highlight for the winter.

As always, all our rides depend on having a leader. Don't let worries about the winter weather put you off from leading a winter ride - we will cancel the ride if very bad weather is forecast. So you can always volunteer in confidence - you might hit lucky and have a glorious sunny day! Rupert Goodings

CTC Cambridge February Lunch

The CTC Cambridge Grand February Lunch will be held on Sunday 18th February 2018 at Bourn Golf and Fitness Club. This is a replacement for our Christmas Lunch which was cancelled due to bad weather. This is open to all members irrespective of whether they had booked a place at the Christmas Lunch.

Here is the menu. Two courses are £19.95 and three courses are £23.95. If you'd like to attend then please make your menu choices and send them to Sue Howells: contact details are on the menu.

If you had booked a place at our Christmas Lunch, and your new choice costs less than the amount you paid for the Christmas Lunch (which was two courses for £21.95 and £25.95), then you can simply send your menu choices by email. We will refund the difference on the day.

If your new choice costs more than the amount you paid, or you you didn't book a place at our Christmas lunch, then please print the menu, make your selections and send it together with a cheque for the amount due by post to Sue at the address on the form.

In both cases please make your booking by Sunday 11th February.

If you had booked a place at our Christmas Lunch and don't wish to attend the February lunch then please let Sue know by 11th February and we will arrange a refund.

New committee for 2017-2018

Riding guidelines

Rupert writes: We have recently published a set of riding guidelines. These have been specially written for use on our club rides. They give an introduction to the main elements of good group riding, and they are intended to replace some of the older information on the website.

We'd like to invite everyone who rides with us to take a look at these riding guidelines to refresh your understanding of how best to ride in group. Most of you will know the basics, but there are probably a few tips for everyone. Small improvements by everyone should help our groups - and especially the larger groups - ride more safely without spoiling the social interaction that makes our rides so enjoyable.

If you have any questions or comments you are welcome to contact me or any member of the main committee. Contact details are on our contacts page. Rupert Goodings, Runs Secretary
