Times:

10am, 2.30pm. No space; dot and not colon; am/pm, not 24-hour clock. 10.00am used in rides list.

Distances:

40 km, 25 miles. With a space; abbreviation 'km' with no 's' but 'miles' written in full, except in route library, which uses 40km/25mi. The user can select whether they prefer miles or km (on automated pages) with miles as the default.

Elevations:

48m. No space; metric only, no feet.

Numbers:

Spell numbers one to nine and use figures for 10 onwards, unless the number is attached to a unit, e.g. 3 km.

Abbreviations:

approx., e.g., etc. With a dot .

Hyperlinks:

avoid 'here' and use name of the page linked to where possible, e.g.:

Where a link is to a pdf, indicate this in brackets, e.g.:

Roles:

club secretary, safeguarding officer, membership secretary. Lower case.

Quotation marks:

single for direct speech, double for a quote within a quote, single for titles of articles, guidelines, call outs, etc., e.g .:
Call out 'Stopping!' or 'Slowing!' if you need to stop or slow down.
