This is a selection from the hundreds of photographs that were taken by club member and former president Donnex Claydon (1910 - 2006). Most were taken in the mid-1930's but one or two were taken later.
The original photos were 3.25" slides and were converted to digital format by the late Peter Rowell. The dates and places mentioned were written on the slide.
(If you recognise any of the locations or people, or can tell us more about these photographs, we'd love to hear from you).

On the occasion of King George V's Jubilee 1935

This newspaper photograph shows members of CTC Cambridge outside the old Cambridge Guildhall in 1935. Len Nice is the third cyclist from the left, and Donnex Claydon is the cyclist on the far right.
From the collection of Vic Claydon. A handwritten note on the back of the photograph describes the occasion:
On the occasion of King George V's Jubilee 1935
A message of goodwill to the King was carried by teams of members of the C.T.C. the length and breadth of the British Isles and was signed by the Mayors of the towns on route (The Provosts in Scotland) and finally presented to his majesty at Buckingham Palace. Members of the Cambridge carried the document from Newmarket via Cambridge to Bedford.
This is a Cambridge Daily News photograph of the team outside the old Cambridge Guildhall, after being entertained to coffee by the deputy mayor and the signing of the document.
The team L to R Messrs J.A.Burn-Murdoch, E.Spivy, L.V.Nice, A.J.Moore, H.Denny, C.G.Moore and W.J.Claydon.
Standing behind is the deputy mayor (Ald Spalding) and his daughter, also Mr G.H.M.Pitt (in raincoat) a very active member of the Cambridge at that time.
