CTC Cambridge is a local group of Cycling UK, the national cycling charity. Cycling UK has a long and illustrious history, founded in 1878 as the Bicycle Touring Club and subsequently re-named the Cyclists' Touring Club (CTC) and now as Cycling UK. Its mission is to enable millions more people to cycle.
Our Cambridge group, which continues to use the name CTC Cambridge, was formed in 1921. We have been assembling for rides at Brookside ever since and were proud to celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2021. Read about our Club history.
We represent over 1,300 Cycling UK members in the Cambridge area. We welcome new riders of all ages and abilities. Our rides are led by experienced leaders who are responsible for choosing a good route and keeping the ride safe and well organised. We are a very sociable club and, as well as café and/or lunch stops on every ride, we also organise occasional social events.
We campaign for better cycling facilities for all types of cyclist in this region as the best way to encourage more people to cycle, and to cycle more each week.
The club is run by a committee of members which is elected every year. Committee and AGMs.
