Monday 19th July marked Step 4 of the government roadmap. We can now gather in large groups and there are no restrictions on group size for indoor gatherings, notably inside seating in cafes. But we are told to "act carefully and remain cautious". With high and rising levels of infection we will err on the side of caution. We are going to continue with a policy of mostly booked rides because our leaders prefer leading smaller size groups. We are recommending that leaders limit their group to a size of 6 to 12 riders with an absolute maximum group size of 15. The number is a balance between having enough people for a sociable mix while being small enough to ride safely together. It also helps to limit the numbers that arrive together at the cafe stops to avoid long queues.
So we continue to ask you to contact the leader in advance to book a place on any ride that states "Booking essential". Booking opens 10 days in advance and we've provided a new "book a place" button to make this easier. We may also offer a few rides where you do not need to book and can simply turn up on the day. These will be clearly marked as "Booking not required".
Please read our Supplementary guidance for riders during the Coronavirus (COVID‑19) pandemic. We ask you all to support our leaders by following this guidance at all times. Rupert
