The rules were changed on 17th May as part of the government roadmap out of lockdown. We can now gather in larger groups of 30 and the "rule of six" now only applies to indoor gatherings, notably inside seating in cafes.
We think a group of 30 is far too large for our rides and we plan a more modest increase to groups of up to 12 riders. This means that we will continue to operate with booked rides where you must contact the leader in advance of the ride to book a place.
Leaders will also have the option to set a lower limit than 12 if they prefer. Please read our Supplementary Guide for Riders while Covid-19 restrictions apply.
The limit of twelve should also allow us to use indoor cafe stops by splitting into two separate groups of six. Government restrictions still set a maximum group of six individuals from different households for indoor seating. As cafes reopen, we also think it is a good idea to limit the numbers that arrive together at any one cafe.
