The Greater Cambridge Partnership have started a public consultation on the next steps for the Sawston Greenway. This is the new name for the "DNA cycle path" from Addenbrooke's to Great Shelford and the Sustrans Route 11 via Stapleford and Sawston. The route is largely in place and this consultation proposes a set of improvements and some welcome additions.See the Sawston Greenway consultation page on the GCP website. Here's a direct link to the consultation leaflet (pdf) and a direct link to the survey questionnaire. The deadline for responding to the consultation is 5th August 2019.
We have prepared an analysis of the proposals and we invite you to use these comments to inform your own consultation response. You can read our detailed analysis.
Two welcome proposals are a (much needed) widening of the DNA path and a new cycle path along the A1301/Sawston bypass to connect from the Sawston traffic lights to the Whittlesford cycle path.
But we think the proposals lack some details and need some changes. For more details you can read our detailed comments.
