The Annual General Meeting of CTC Cambridge will be held at 3pm on Sunday 23rd April at Whittlesford Memorial Hall, followed by a club tea.
Minutes of meeting (including reports).
We are very pleased that Cycling UK Trustee John Jackson will be attending our meeting, and will be able to give us an update on what's happening at a National level in Cycling UK. John is keen to hear members' views and will be happy to answer your questions.
Please bring your Cycling UK membership card with you if you intend voting on agenda items. Our rides on the day will arrive at Whittlesford in good time for the start of the AGM.
All committee posts are open for election. Any member of Cycling UK can stand for any elected post. Nominations should be sent in advance of the meeting to the secretary, John Seton (secretary@ctccambridge.org.uk). Nominations can also be made at the meeting.
The current committee is listed here. All the existing committee members have indicated that they are prepared to stand for re-election, except forJohn Jackson, who will not be standing for re-election as registration and promotions officer so he can focus on his new role as a Cycling UK Trustee. We are also seeking to replace Ray Miller as deputy runs secretary following his recent move away from Cambridge. The total number of committee members is not fixed – if you're keen to help you will be welcome!
We've decided that now is a good time to review the mix of tasks different committee members cover. Many roles have changed and expanded over time – for example the web officer role currently covers both the technical and authoring/content aspects of the website. The registration and promotions role has expanded and changed since we started rider registration, and with the advent of social media. We have social events through the year, and someone could focus on organising those, and so on.
So, we are looking for people who would be keen to help on the CTC Cambridge committee, and we would then meet soon after the AGM to discuss how to divide up the things that need doing to match the skills and interests of the new committee.
We're keen to get some new faces and new ideas from right across the club on the committee, so please do consider whether you would be prepared to stand for election. If you are interested, or have any questions, please contact me or anyone else on the committee for a chat.
