Tom writes: We enjoyed a perfectly cloudless day with very light winds and temperatures reaching 28C. The ages of those braving the heat ranged from 60s to 89.
Eight members met for lunch at the advertised venue which today was The Marquis of Granby in Stetchworth. Several riders had cycled there directly from home, whilst others had met up earlier at Anglesey Abbey for coffee after either cycling from Cambridge or, in one case, driving.
The heat, and the fact that we wouldn't all be cycling together for long, made for a protracted, sociable, lunch. The total distances cycled varied from around 25 miles to a little over 40.
