A game originally conceived by South Devon CTC that is suited for lone cycling in uncrowded areas. The idea is to identify locations to ride to, pass through, or ride along and 'scavenge' the features that are specified. Use your local knowledge and/or maps to find locations, most of which should be close enough to your home to fit with your daily exercise regime.
Twelve features are listed; you then cycle to as many as you can in a two-week period. A new list will be published two weeks later.
Scoring is based on a maximum of 3 scavenges per ride, so that will require a minimum of 4 rides in the two-week period.
The rules to follow are:
- Two weeks to complete, responses to quiz@ctccambridge.org.uk by 6pm Sunday;
- Clues for the next 'challenge' will be released between 7pm and 8pm on a Sunday;
- You can only claim each scavenge once in the two-week period;
- Not more than 3 finds can be scavenged in a single day;
- Scoring: 1 scavenge in a day = 1 point, 2 = 3 points, 3 = 5 points;
- Honesty is paramount and a photo of each scavenge acts as 'proof';
- At least one selfie (the more amusing the better!) must be provided per week which will be used for the announcement of that week's winner;
- The winner of each challenge will win a hand-made cloth badge!
- Ride carefully and respectfully.
Note that this is aimed at you finding the clues in your own locality, having a bit of fun and encouraging regular exercise
