John F writes: The prospect of tea at the Chestnut Tree at West Wratting and the first rain-free day for a week encouraged 14 riders to set off at 2pm. The strong southerly breeze marred an otherwise perfect day for cycling. We followed a broadly clockwise route from Brookside to Cherry Hinton via the Tins path and thence Fulbourn Old Drift to Fulbourn from where we escaped suburbia to the Wilbrahams, Bottisham and Dullingham. There we headed south into the teeth of the stiff breeze along quiet roads to our tea stop at The Chestnut Tree in West Wratting, arriving at 4.05pm. Six day-riders had preceded us and were enjoying the excellent spread provided by mine hostess, Rachel.
