Nigel writes: Only John and I turned up for this evening's ride, which was something of a surprise since it was a quiet, pleasant evening. We agreed that we would each ride to the pub at our own pace, so after discussing a route and confirming the rendezvous point, off we went.
There was a slight westerly wind so I made rapid progress east out of Cambridge along Newmarket Road to Quy. There I turned right onto the long road past Little Wilbraham to Six Mile Bottom. When I reached it I turned right and then left for the pleasant climb past the Wadlow Farm wind turbines.

I continued on delightful empty lanes to Dullingham where I turned onto the road to Swaffham Bulbeck. I arrived there just after 8pm so I decided to take a loop around Commercial End before turning west to Quy, where I stopped at The White Swan at 8.20pm. I was just settling down to my pie and pint when I was joined by John a short while later. John had taken a slightly longer route via West Wratting.
Afterwards we returned back to Cambridge via Fen Ditton and Stourbridge Common. I arrived back home at 9.45pm, having cycled
31 miles.

I was sorry not to be there but it was all hands on deck at work due to the Heartbleed vulnerability.
